354 Prime Hoggs overall average levelled at 201.48p/kg
A drastically reduced entry of hoggs on offer today which met a flying demand to level at 201.48p/kg, with today’s entry wqas made up of 38% Mule and Swaledale hoggs. Leading the way was Andrew Butler, who sold Texels to 230p/kg, weighing 43kgs (£99) and 229p/kg at 42kgs (£96)
Messrs JM Sanderson, Halton sold light weight Texels to 220p/kg at 37kgs (£81.50.
Strong well-fed sheep were very thin on the ground today and sold extremely well with 47kg Texels from Messrs T & E Burrow, Slyne selling to 226p/kg (£106) and 49kg hoggs from MJ & LC Lund selling to 222p/kg (£109). PD Anderton, Scorton sold 47kg Suffolks to £103. T & CM Kelsall & Sons, Chipping sold Mule weighing 48kg to £101, twice. 50kg Dorsets from MJ & LC Lund sold to £104 and Scottish Blackface hoggs from William Pye made £84 at 40kgs.

A very light entry of cull ewes and rams were met by a magnificent trade.
Cull ewes from MRS Property (Lancashire) Ltd sold Texels to £137. Texel cross Mules from MB Flatman & Son sold to £106. Beltexs from PJ Onions sold to £109. Mules from PD Anderton sold to £108 and £98 with MRS Property (Lancashire) Ltd selling Mules to £97.
Cast tups were a flying trade with DM Eames, Abbeystead selling Texels to £154 and Suffolks to £127 and a Teeswater to £127.
